Tournament Expectations

1. Preparation & Arrival

  • Be on time and aware of your proper weigh-in times. A second session can weigh in 30 minutes after the first session ends, or during their session weigh-in time.
  • Bring your current USA Wrestling card to weigh-ins.
  • Gear check: wrestling shoes, headgear, singlet(s), mouthguard (if needed), and warm-up clothes.

2. Conduct & Sportsmanship

  • Show respect to coaches, officials, teammates, opponents, and tournament staff.
  • No unsportsmanlike behavior — taunting, arguing with referees, or disrespectful gestures can result in penalties or disqualification.
  • Represent your team with pride; your attitude reflects on the whole program.

3. Session Wrestling & Matches

  • Only wrestlers competing in each session are allowed on the floor; siblings and teammates not wrestling belong in the stands.
  • Stay ready — keep track of bout numbers and mat assignments.
  • Listen to your coach and give full effort, win or lose. Coaches must remain in the designated coaches corral until your wrestler's match is about to start.

4. After Matches

  • Always shake your opponent's and the referee's hand. Handle wins humbly and losses with dignity, and review with your coach.

5. Team Responsibilities

  • Support teammates, stay near the team area, and help keep the space clean and organized.

6. Health & Safety

  • Report injuries to a coach or trainer immediately. Follow hygiene and skin-check procedures.

7. Parental / Spectator Expectations

  • Positive encouragement only — no coaching from the stands. Respect officials and staff, and let the coaches coach.

Important: Type your team’s name exactly the same on every CAGWA form — that’s how all your paperwork stays together under one team.
